Haley Fye was born and raised in Winter Park, Florida. Haley began playing violin at the age of nine, then switched to viola the next year after falling in love with its beautiful timbre. After many years of developing her skills in school orchestras at Glenridge Middle and Winter Park High, she decided to attend Rollins College to pursue a degree in Music where she received a scholarship to play viola. During Haley’s time at Rollins College, she studied viola under Joni Roos and was invited to perform in the Bach Festival Society of Winter Park. Haley also studied secondary education while at Rollins, completing internships at Spring Lake Elementary, Winter Park High School, and completed her student teaching at Maitland Middle School under Lisa Loucks. She is currently pursuing her Master’s of Arts in Music at University of Central Florida, studying under Dr. Chung Park.
Haley has had a passion for teaching for the majority of her life, as she started volunteering at the Glenridge Middle School Orchestra when she was in high school, offering one-on-one and small group instruction to eager students. She then continued her teaching career by undergoing the aforementioned internships and student teaching during her undergrad at Rollins College. Haley has also taught private lessons to students of varying ages at multiple studios throughout the Central Florida area, including Oviedo School of Music, Avalon School of Music, East Orlando School of Music, and is now currently at Songbirds Music, Art, and Dance Center teaching private lessons for stringed instruments.
In her spare time, Haley enjoys playing video games, swimming, running, going to the beach, and spending time with her friends. She loves her family and two cats, taking care of her plants, and relaxing with a cup of tea.
