Mexican-American violinist, Dr. Pamela Mireles, has been performing for 18 years, enjoying and learning from every note around her. Dr. Pam earned a Bachelor’s degree in Violin Performance with congratulations in the Escuela Superior de Música (ESM) in Mexico City (2017); a Master’s degree in Violin Performance (2019) and a DMA in Violin performance with a cognate in Entrepreneurship (2022) at the School of Music at the University of Florida.
In her hometown, Torreón, Dr. Pam was founder concertmaster from the Orquesta Sinfónica Juvenil de Torreón, participated in the Jazz Ensemble at her former school, Instituto de Música “Santa Cecilia”, and represented both ensembles and her city for 6 years at the Orquesta Sinfónica Infantil y Juvenil de México (OSIM), a youth summer music camp.
In Mexico City, Dr. Pam played with pop singers like Christian Castro, Carla Morrison, Guadalupe Pineda and Carlos Rivera. She belonged to “Ensamble Youak”, a contemporary ensamble of traditional Mexican music. Dr. Pam was a founder member of the Ensamble Reversi, a string quartet dedicated to premiere new works by Composition major students and participated, lead and conducted in the “Taller de la Memoria”, a group which goal is to perform music from the XX and XXI century. She taught in youth orchestras such as the Orquesta Juvenil de Tepoztlán, Morelos and the Orquesta Sinfónica Comunitaria “Rey Poeta” in Nezahualcoyotl, Mexico State.
Dr. Pam has participated as soloist with the Orquesta Sinfónica Juvenil de Torreón in November 2011 and March 2012; with the Orquesta del Estado de Durango in September 2019 and with the Ocala Symphony Orchestra in January 2020. In Summer 2021, she worked as a Resident Advisor at a summer camp called Encuentros 2022, hosted by the Dudamel Foundation and the Los Angeles Philharmonic.
Dr. Pam belongs to The Gainesville Orchestra and the Ocala Symphony Orchestra, and plays as an extra in The Florida Orchestra. She is also an adjunct professor at the University of Saint Leo, teaching “Entender el Sonido”, a music appreciation class.
